April 27th 2022: A lot of residents in Costa Mesa have been discussing the new protected bike lanes in Costa Mesa. The new protected bike lanes extend only half a mile along Bristol Street from Randolph Avenue to northbound Newport Boulevard.

The bike lines included a specially painted bicycle lane buffer as well as plastic flexible bollards as well as other markings. This is the fourth such installation in Orange County and, there is likely to be more as cities such as Costa Mesa try to make their bike lanes more friendly to bicycle riders.
