December 5th 2025: News for you Trader Joe’s fans a second location is coming to Costa Mesa. The new location will be in the former 99 Cent store at Harbor and Victoria; No timeframe has been given when the store will open but hopefully the date isn’t too far off. The existing location on 17th street is only a couple of miles away but like most Trader Joe’s gets really busy so another option is welcome.
In non Trader Joe news the former Rite Aid at Harbor and Wilson is to become a Sketchers store the popular athletic shoe store with construction underway.
In sorry to see the Rite Aid close and feel bad for the employees but with more people getting their prescriptions delivered plus Rite Aid’s struggles it’s not a surprise. If you can get you prescription delivered the store misses out on the other stuff you might buy when you were in the store.
Update December 11th: Today at 9am was Grand Opennng for the 2nd Costa Mesa Trader Joes. The new location is at Harbor and Victoria as new so you might want to wait to visit or visit duting less busy hours.
