June 13th 2022: The former The Hall Global Eatery space at South Coast Plaza is going to be replaced this fall by Calo Kitchen + Tequila. The level one space near Carousel Court was also the location of Z Tejas before that. The new restaurant is a location of a the boutique restaurant chain founded by Clemente Heredia.
The new restaurant aims to service traditional Mexican classics as well as contemporary favorites as well of course lots of margaritas and other Tequila drinks. Opening a new restaurant at anytime is extremely difficult but opening one now with increasing inflation is especially difficult so i wish them luck.

Unfortunately Calo Kitchen + Tequila didn’t open at South Coast Plaza as planned with it still in the opening soon status, hopefully that is the case.
