September 21st 2022: The Donald Dungan Library on Park Avenue in Costa Mesa is hosting a movie screening this Sunday. The movie being screened is of Double Indemnity starring Fred MacMurray. This film has the only known film footage of the famous crime novelist Raymond Chandler who co wrote the screenplay with director Billy Wilder. Double Indemnity was nominated for seven Academy Awards including Best Picture and sees Fred MacMurray do a dramatic role instead of the comedic ones he was known for. The star heavy cast also includes James Cagney, Alan Ladd, Gregory Peck, George Raft, Spencer Tracy and Barbara Stanwyck and Edward G Robinson. Before the movie the movie guy will share interesting facts about the movie as well as talk about it.
