September 25th 2023: On Saturday morning I headed to the Mc Donalds at Harbor & Wilson for a nice breakfast but was met with closed drive through and a locked door. There was employees inside but they were having technical issues so could not sell food.
On Sunday I was meet with an employee outside who was taking orders but only for cash only as the popular Mc Donalds application as well as the debit and credit card systems were still down. Because of the problems only one of the two drive through lanes were open which is is how it also is today Monday with cash only.
For a restaurant as busy as a Mc Donalds location not to be able to take debit or credit cards for several days must be costing the franchisee Ruby Restaurants a fortune in lost income; Hopefully the issue will be solved as soon as possible as times have been amazing tough for restaurants in the last few years.
Update Tuesday 26th September: The restaurant was again unable to take electronic payments and the app was also still not working. Eventually later in the afternoon the cash only signs came down and the second drive through lane was reopened as their electronic payment systems and, app finally came back online. An outage like this for a day is unusual but for many days is really strange, hopefully things get back to normal.
