March 4th 2025: Good news for Costa Mesa fans of Shake Shack a Costa Mesa location will open this year. The chain has kind of a cult following on the East Coast and is adding more locations on the West Cost to compete with homegrown favorite In N Out.
The Costa Mesa location will be in the location of the former old A framed IHOP at 333 East 17th Street which was demolished for the new Shake Shack. The new Costa Mesa location is one of three new locations coming to Orange County with other restaurants opening in Huntington Beach and Brea.
If you are a fan of the chains signature burgers, chicken sandwiches and shakes the chance to get Shake Shack closer to home is a big plus. It will be interesting to see what happens as Shake Shack adds more locations in Orange County how it will do against established Orange County brands such as Taco Bell, Del Taco and El Pollo Loco.
